JP October/Ramadan Meet-Up

I think that everyone who attended this meeting would agree that it was far from typical and that it was a lot of fun. Ramadan spirit was surrounding us and we shared a nice Iftar in this holy month with people we like, admire and respect. Not only it was a gathering of friends, but it was also a meeting for great minds who think and act differently.

We started the meeting at the Belle View Hotel, where we were greeted and met with great respect and a high level of professionalism and hospitality. I went a little earlier before Iftar time to make sure that all was arranged, and when I reached the room that was arranged for our meeting, I found the General Manager and the Food and Beverage Manager supervising the arrangement themselves and that they took care of all details.

I really like this hotel a lot; their service is highly personalized and they do care about their clients; they are keen on getting feedback regarding everything they do which is something that I admire in any organization.

The food was very good; they have provided us with a good variety to meet different tastes. We had soups, salads, main dishes, sweets and beverages; just check the pictures below and you will know what I am talking about.

We had some new comers this time and missed other regulars, we wished that everyone could have made it to the meeting but it is expected that some were previously engaged especially on a Thursday evening.

After we finished our Iftar, Jad suggested that we go to the Old View Café to sit together and get a chance to get to know each other especially for the new comers; I really have to thank Jad for this suggestion because we had so much fun and discussed many issues like the censorship over Skype website from TRC in Jordan and what we can do to make a difference; Isam was leading this very important discussion and our thanks go to him.

We also had a chance to remember some of our childhood cartoon and even sang a few of their songs.

I have to say that we talked about Qwaider a lot and it seemed that there were many among us who had confrontations and/or arguments with him; he even wrote dedicated posts about some and it was finally suggested that we should have a Qwaider Victims Club; Be careful Qwaider, the members are increasing )

I will leave you with some of the pictures taken tonight … enjoy!

    Salam,

I personaly wanna thank you Khalidah for the pictures of food, anyone who knows me know that I value food ALOT, specially back home food *sigh* Where was I?

Yes, About Qwaider Club, I think you guys need to register QVC in Amman and make it an official Club, no one can join unless Qwaider wrote a post about them. LOL

This is so funny, Qwaider is a great blogger, I’m sure he is cracking up right now about this.

I really wish I was there(knowing me if I was in Amman I would propably shy from those meetings anyways). But I am planning a quick visit to the M.E if I ever graduate .LOL

    Nice post,

    Thanks,

    Khaled

  13. hatem abunimeh Says:

    Khalidah,
As always, great pictures, great coverage of the sequence of events. You guys ought to invite the press to your meetings to take some shots of your gatherings and interview some of the attendants and furnish quotes and comments to the media about blogging and the bogsphere in Jordan.Think about it, it will add another dynamic dimension to Jordan fledgling blgging industry, it may even hasten the chances of proselytizing others.

    Memo to 7ala,
Please gid rid of those spectacles of yours, they make you look like zoro in the picture. I mean don’t take me wrong I’m only exercising my rights to freedom of speech. Your entire attire looks great on you, you have well coordinated colors, very modest and everything, the outfit is elegant but those spectacles peril everything else.I know I might catch a lot of wrath for saying that but I couldn’t help myslef, someone had to say it and it happened to be me. It is all my meaculpa.

By the way my mother hates my spectacles but I love them very much. She preferes my other spectacles becoz they make me look more (rakzeh) heheh but these are more modern and stylish and i dont use them with all the clothes becoz ma belba2o 3ala kl shi -)

[...] Yesterday – Thursday, had managed to pop round JP’s iftoor event, – and a good move it was. First and foremost a big THANK YOU goes out to Khalida for a good choice of venue, and a good marketing blog about the event documenting it and proof with photos that all had attended. ) )) Another thank you goes out to Roba, for her quick moves in helping out ) It was a pleasure meeting all, and placing faces to names with the real-life gathering. Bumping into an old-school mate dating back to ‘93, Laith was a nice surprise. Hala of RamblingHal is a notorious person that drew a smile on my face, kudos to her on the Aramex story, and if she needs support in the Aramex meeting on Sunday, I’ll gladly join. Naturally without saying, all her blogging-contributions have been GREAT and hopefully will continue to be so to better ) RedRose, Shaden, Tamara, Eyad, 3adoola, Grace, Isam, Moey, Kinzi, & Sam were there chilling as well with a good laugh to all. Jad – I’ll surely be following your steps to being 100% microsoft free, it was good meeting you.Cheers to all… [...]
