Mom … I am so proud of you!
I know that it is still early for mother’s day, but as a tribute to my own mom, I am advertising her art work to all of you out there.
My mother got married at the age of 16; she had my elder sister less than one year later and one year after the other, she found herself stuck with a big family to care for and discovered that she had forgotten about her dreams in the process.
She did a wonderful job with all of us and gave us all her support to pursue our own dreams fulfilling her own through us. After we were all grown ups and did not need her full attention, mom started thinking again of doing something that is her own and that is about her only. She started going out to observe and learn, but after one long year of others taking the credit of her work, she decided that it was time to be independent and start something on her own. After discussing the idea with my dad, he was all for it because he wanted her to follow her dreams and to achieve the goal that she was after. They studied the whole thing and decided to go for it.
My mom started her embroidery and sewing workshop about 3 years ago. She and my father built and decorated the place and she started to look for volunteers to work with her and found that a lot of girls who left school at an early age, seek this business and try to learn a skill to help them provide for themselves and perhaps their families, and soon she had a team working with her full time. At the same time, she recruited so many housewives to do the needlework and embroidery on a part time basis.
Her work is not of the typical things you would see in any shop. Not because she is my mother, but she is really creative when it comes to new designs and ideas. She has won a prize for the best success story in her feild and they are preparing a tele-movie about her; I will announce it when it is to be broadcasted.
Back to the subject of this post. Last night when I went home, mom showed me some of the things that she was busy preparing for Mother’s Day. I could not help myself to take some photos and share them with the world.
Enjoy!!
If anyone is interested in giving his/her mom a very special unique gift for this year, you know where to look and who to contact
