[...] Let’s see: Egypt’s role in the economic isolation of Gaza has received little attention until today, when Palestinian gunmen destroyed a large chunk of the wall at the border town of Rafah, the only point where Palestinians can cross directly into the outside world without passing through Israel. In what looked like a mass prison break, tens of thousands of Palestinians poured into Egypt to snap up food and other items that have been in short supply. The chaotic scenes have put the spotlight on Egypt’s support of Israel’s policies in isolating Hamas, the Islamists who seized power in Gaza by routing Fatah last June. The isolation has extracted a huge toll on Gaza’s 1.5 million inhabitants as detailed in today’s Guardian by Karen Koning AbuZayd, commissioner general for Unwra, the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine, and by bloggers, such as Khalidah.
Solomon2,

Thank you for passing by and for your comment

I guess that the difference between our perception of the situation is that I am looking at it (as an outsider of course) from a totally humanitarian angle and to tell you the truth, no community no matter what their race, color, ethnicity or religion should go through what Gazans are going through simply because life is worth more and is not a game and should be respected and valued ...

In no way I am agreeing with Hamas or their approach to the whole situation (and I am not a political blogger at all) ... but I still think that people should not be punished because of their governments' twisted choices ... The majority of the people just want to be left alone after this lifetime of war and killings ...

Frankly and in this time and era ... it seems that Arabs are being stereotyped allover the world and are being shown as terrorists in a generalizing manner and that's just wrong and misleading ...
